Ingredients

  • 2 tbs olive oil

  • 1.5 lbs beef stew meat, cubed

  • 2.5 tbs all purpose flour

  • 1.5 oz packet Mc Cormick beef stew packet

  • 3 cups water

  • 1 onion, diced

  • 2 russet potatoes, peeled and cubed

  • 2 sticks celery, sliced

  • 2 large carrots, sliced

Directions

  • In a medium sized bowl add the beef then add in the flour, stir to coat the beef in the flour.
  • In a dutch oven or large pot over medium heat add the oil, once it’s hot sear the meat on all sides.
  • Add in the beef stew packet and 3 cups of water. Scrape the bits off the bottom of the pan. Bring to a boil, drop to a simmer and let simmer covered for 45 minutes. Stir occasionally.
  • Add in the vegetables into the pot and stir well. Simmer covered for an additional 30 minutes or until the vegetables and meat are tender. Enjoy!

Made this tonight but in the crockpot and took the advice of not taking the lid off to check it. OMG it turned out so delicious.

  2. This was so yummy!! I’m not sure why, but I needed to add 3 cups more water than what the recipe says because it was way too thick.
