Crockpot Carne Asada

Tender, flavorful beef slow-cooked with citrus and spices—this Crockpot Carne Asada makes taco night totally effortless.

Ingredients 

  • 1 lb flank steak
  • 1 can diced green chili peppers
  • 14 oz can fire roasted tomatoes
  • ½ onion, finely chopped
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp salt and black pepper
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper

Instructions 

  • Add all the dry seasonings to a little bag or bowl and mix well. Rub and work ispices into the flank steak.
  • In the slow cooker, first put in the tomatoes, followed by the green chili, onion and lime. Add the steak on top of everything.
  • Cook on low setting for 7 hours, or on high 4-5 on high. Shred the steak and give everything a really good stir before serving. I serve in a tortilla with my favorite burrito toppings.

    I started off a little late in the day so I browned the beef first and then set set everything in the crockpot.. I went a little easy on the cayenne tho.. Served with all the fixings.. Love to find new recipes for the crockpot so a big thank you for this one! This was so yummy!!!!
