
Ground Beef and Rice Casserole
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup uncooked white rice
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 yellow onion , diced
- 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
- 1 cup carrots, diced
- 10.5 oz can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp peppe
- 1 tsp paprika
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- To a large skillet on the stove add the ground beef, break the ground beef up and cook it through. Once cooked remove any excess grease from the pan.
- Add the cooked ground beef in into a greased 9×13 baking dish. Add in the uncooked rice, diced onion, 1 cup of the cheddar cheese, diced carrots, seasonings, stir well. Cover with foil and bake for 50 minutes.
- Remove the foil, sprinkle with the remaining cheese and bake it for an additional 15 minutes.

Hi Julia: I made the ground beef and rice casserole, but I noticed the directions do not include when to add the cream of mushroom soup and the beef broth. I assume you add it when you add the other ingredients (rice, onion, carrots, spices) but I thought you might want to edit your recipe here on your website to include this important addition.
I love your cookbook and I’m enjoying trying many of your recipes.

This recipe is missing any instruction of when to add in the cream of mushroom. I’m assuming you add it after the ground beef is cooked?
