This was one of those cases where it must vary between slow cookers. I followed this recipe exactly, and as my son described it, it came out as “slop.” Just a goopy mess with no texture and a bitter flavor. The broccoli overpowered everything else, and the rice was overcooked to the point where it looked like oatmeal. I wish I would’ve just cooked all the ingredients separately. However, the issue was probably that my slow cooker still cooks quickly on low. It would’ve been better had I only cooked it on low for ~2 hours, but definitely not 4-5 as the instructions say.
I put in the knorr creamy chicken rice packet with my chicken breast in crockpot. Was it supposed to cook within the crockpot or make it separate and then add the already cooked rice?
I’m new here. Today I made your Crockpot Chicken & Seasoned Rice and OMG it was so delicious, it’s definitely a go to for me from now on!! Thank you for sharing.
Thank you Julia for all of you wonderful recipes. I have a question. I wanted to make the Knoor chicken and rice recipe but I accidentally got the Knoors packet that has the noodles instead of the rice. Would I still cook it the same way? Thank you in advance!
Hi Julia. I enjoy your recipes, but I might have an issue with the newest one. I couldn’t find the Knorr rice packets so I didn’t use them. Can I put regular rice in instead?
