Ingredients for Buster Bar Ice Cream Cake:

ice cream layer
  • Cookies: I love this recipe best with using crushed up Oreo Cookies
  • Melted butter: Use unsalted melted butter to make the cake crust
  • Ice cream: To get the traditional flavors of the Buster bar I like to keep it simple by using softened creamy vanilla ice cream
  • Chocolate: All you will need is simple semi-sweet chocolate chips to make the chocolate fudge sauce
  • Butter: This butter will go in with the chocolate chips and will melt WITH the chocolate to make the chocolate coating
  • Sugar: For the best results use powered sugar to get a similar effect to the chocolate magic shell topping or hot fudge sauce
  • Milk: Evaporated Milk will help add to the creaminess of the topping for this ice cream bar dessert
  • Peanut: Dry Roasted Peanuts will give the best flavor to add a little saltiness to this sweet Buster bar cake

Tips and tricks for making this easy ice cream dessert:

Ice cream flavors:

I really enjoy using the traditional vanilla ice cream in this recipe, but you can always make it your own and use your family’s favorite ice cream flavor.

Peanut butter ice cream, cookie dough ice cream, or chocolate ice cream could be great options!

Add-ins for this ice cream dessert:

Add some sprinkles for birthday celebrations. I also love putting some of the leftover Oreo pieces in with the peanuts for a little added crunch.

Essential Recipe Tip

Make sure your ice cream is soft to ensure it is easy to spread the ice cream without breaking the tasty Oreo layer on the bottom.
