Frito Pies

Crunchy, cheesy, and loaded with chili—Frito Pies are the ultimate comfort food mashup, perfect for weeknights, tailgates, or anytime cravings hit. Easily can double or triple this recipe for parties.

Ingredients 

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 white onion diced
  • 2 tbs taco seasoning mix
  • ½ cup water
  • 2 15 oz cans mixed chili beans
  • 1 10 oz can rotel
  • 8 oz tomato sauce
  • Toppings: Shredded cheese of your choice, tomato, avocado, lettuce, jalapeños or anything else you enjoy.

Instructions 

  • In a pan, cook up the beef and onion. Remove the excess grease.
  • Add taco seasoning and water pan and mix it well.
  • In the crockpot, pour in the beans, rotel, tomato sauce and add the cooked beef and onions in.
  • Mix well and cook on low for 5 hours or high for 2 hours.

Frito Pie Assembly

  • Scoop of Fritos, add chili and top with cheese, tomatoes, iceberg lettuce, avocado, or jalapeños!

    I tried this recipe for the 1st time today. I did it stove top because I didn’t have time for the slow cooker OPTION… It was super yummy! Thank you Julia!

    I bought the ingredients for this but didn’t have time to put them in the slow cooker before work. I really wanted to have this for dinner when I got home buy couldn’t wait 2-5 hours to slow cook so I decided to follow the recipe but simmer in a pot for an hour. It came out tasting great and was a big hit with my family!
