
One Pot Pinto Beans
Ingredients
- 1 lb dry pinto beans
- 9 cups water
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
Instructions
- Look through the beans to find any rocks or imperfect beans, discard the bad beans. Rinse the beans over cold water to remove any dirt on beans.
- Place all of the ingredients into a large pot over the stove. Bring up to a boil then let simmer covered for 3-4 hours or until the beans are tender. Stir the beans occasionally while simmering. If the water line gets too low while simmering add 2 cups of water in at a time. Enjoy!
