Wild Rice and Broccoli Side Dish

1 cup uncooked wild rice
1 tbsp butter
1 3/4 cup vegetable broth
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1 tbsp minced garlic
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 cup Colby jack cheese shredded
12 oz frozen broccoli
Directions
- To a large pot on the stove over high heat add the wild rice, butter, vegetable broth, and seasonings stir well bring up to simmer then turn the heat to low and cover with the lid let simmer for 40 minutes
- Once the time is up stir in the minced garlic then add in the remaining ingredients stir well and cover with the lid and let cook for 5-10 minutes or until the broccoli is tender
