  • 12 oz package Hawaiian sweet rolls
  • ½ cup marinara sauce, divided
  • 12 slices provolone cheese, divided
  • cup parmesan cheese

Butter Topping

  • ¼ cup butter, melted
  • ½ tsp garlic salt
  • ½ tsp oregano
  • ½ tsp Italian seasoning

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

  • Prepare butter mixture: Combine the butter mixture ingredients in a small bowl. Set to the side.
  • Spread 1/4 cup of the marinara sauce over the melted cheese, place chicken nuggets side by side on the marinara sauce, pour 1/4 cup more marinara sauce over the chicken nuggets, place the last 6 slices of provolone cheese on top, cover with the top section of the rolls, pour the butter mixture over the top of the rolls, sprinkle with parmesan cheese. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the cheese is melty. Enjoy!

This was so good! We did one and a half chicken nuggets as my husband likes his meat and used pizza sauce instead of marinara as had that on hand but was a big hit:) my family loved them and my husband was surprised how much he liked it.

Thanks for this fun and tasty sandwich idea. I used shredded rotisserie chicken I had on-hand (although I’m sure it’s great with breaded, too).
