Dinner does not need to be hard or take forever with this easy Ham Fried Rice recipe. With leftover white rice, veggies, diced deli ham, and a few more ingredients, you will have an amazing dinner in less than 15 minutes. 

As long as you have a large skillet, you can make this fried rice pork recipe no problem, no wok needed! 

This is a great recipe to make for busy weeknights, or on the weekend when you want a super quick dinner or lunch recipe that doesn’t take a lot of work, but is still delicious.

This is also a great way to avoid getting takeout and sticking to your budget, and make a simple recipe the whole family will enjoy.

I love that this recipe uses leftover rice. We often have rice, and when I know I want to make this easy ham recipe. I will make a little extra so the hard work is done for this recipe, and all you have to do is throw everything together and have another delicious dinner recipe in less than 15 minutes.

Ingredients for Easy Ham Fried Rice:

  • Rice: For the best results, I like to use cold rice, preferably leftover rice
  • Egg: Adding large eggs will add both flavor and protein
  • Butter: You just need a little softened unsalted butter
  • Oil: I love using sesame oil for added flavor, but you can use olive oil or avocado oil as well
  • Vegetables: Use a combination of frozen peas and fresh shredded carrots
  • Ham: I will get a container of the diced ham in the meat section of the grocery store
  • Broth: Either vegetable broth or low-sodium chicken broth will work great in this fried rice
  • Soy sauce: Low-sodium soy sauce will add even more flavor to this rice recipe
  • OnionFreshly chopped green onions that you can get in bunches from the produce section work great in this dinner
  • Topping: I like to add sesame seeds on top but it’s completely optional

How to Make this Easy Ham Fried Rice:

Prepare Eggs

  1. Heat butter in a large pan over medium heat.
  2. Beat eggs and pour into the pan. Stir gently with a spatula until just cooked. Remove and set aside.

Sauté Veggies and Ham

  1. Add 1 tbsp of sesame oil to the pan. Add peas, carrots, and ham.
  2. Cook everything for 3–4 minutes.

Fry the Rice

  1. Add ½ tbsp of sesame oil to the pan. When hot, add rice.
  2. Toss every 30 seconds for about 5 minutes, until lightly browned.

Combine and Finish

  1. Stir in chicken broth, soy sauce, and green onions.
  2. Add the eggs back in and mix well. Adjust soy sauce to taste.

Serve

  1. Top with sesame seeds if using.
