Ingredients for Tomato Honey Pasta with Chicken
You might be intrigued by the name of this recipe, and to be honest, I wasn’t quite sure what to name it! This pasta is creamy, tomato-y, a little sweet, and cheesy. I can’t really describe it accurately– you’ll just have to try it for yourself. Trust me on this one. To make this recipe, you’ll need:
- short cut pasta, like penne
- butter
- olive oil
- cubed chicken breast
- salt
- pepper
- chili powder
- oregano
- paprika
- onion powder
- garlic powder
- cumin
- honey
- yellow onion
- minced garlic
- canned petite diced tomatoes
- heavy cream
- Mexican-style cheese
How to Make Tomato Honey Pasta with Chicken
Step 1: Cook the Pasta
Cook the pasta according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
Step 2: Cook the Chicken
In the same pot (use my favorite Greenpans or a Dutch oven) that you used to cook the pasta in, add the butter, oil, and cubed chicken. Add half of all of the seasonings and half of the honey and stir to coat the chicken. Cook on medium heat until the chicken is cooked through, about 5 minutes. Once the chicken is cooked through, remove it from the pan and set it to the side.
Step 3: Make the Honey Pasta Sauce
In the same pot (I told you this is a true one-pot meal!) add the onion and cook until it has softened a bit, about 3 minutes. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for about 15 seconds, or until fragrant. Add in the remaining seasonings, remaining honey, diced tomatoes, and heavy cream. Stir together and bring to a simmer for just a few minutes until everything is combined well.
Step 4: Throw it All Together and Serve
Stir in the cheese, and add the chicken and cooked pasta to the pot. Stir everything together until evenly combined. Serve and enjoy!

I made this tonight for my husband and we both really enjoyed it. I’m always looking for quick meals that are flavorful and this hit the mark.
Thank you
Not much to buy, simple to make, whole family (three kids, husband and I, and mother-in-law) loved it. Thank you! So glad having a stress free meal to turn to without it coming from the frozen isle. 🙂
I made this for dinner and I thought it was really good. My boyfriend just said “This is Good” which means he really liked it also 😊 Thank you!
Just made this. It is amazing. The honey is so good in that. This will go onto my favorites file for sure.
