  • 1 lb Italian sausage
  • 1 yellow onion, diced
  • 1 tbs minced garlic
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • 24 oz marinara sauce, (I used a jar)
  • 16 oz small shell pasta
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup parmesan cheese

Instructions

  • Add the sausage and diced onion to a large pot on the stove over medium heat break the sausage up with a meat, masher or a spatula and cook it through.
  • Once cooked remove any excess grease from the pot, then add in the minced garlic, broth, seasonings marinara sauce, and bring this mixture up to a simmer now stir in the pasta and let simmer covered for about 15 minutes. Stir it often so the pasta doesn’t stick to the bottom of the pot.
  • Once the pasta is tender stir in the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese serve and enjoy!

Was very excited to try several of the recipes from this video when I watched it, and this one does not disappoint! It’s hearty and tasty, and the recipe is definitely built to feed a family. If you’re a single pringle like me and not looking to have leftovers for days, I’d cut it in half, but know that it reheats well and I’m munching on some as I type this. I subbed in hot Italian sausage, but I’d stick to mild if you aren’t feeling like spice in every bite; and I used beef bouillon in place of chicken stock since it’s what I had around. Would definitely make it again.
