What is the difference between traditional ribs and country style ribs?
Traditional ribs are normally cut from the actual ribs of a rib cage, like baby back ribs or spare ribs, and have less meat on them. Country ribs are meatier as they are cut from the shoulder or loin cut of pork, which is a thick cut and boneless.
Do I need to use a barbecue rub?
With this slow cooker recipe, you do not need to use any form of rub, and you will still get the best results for juicy and tender ribs.
However, if you want to make a brown sugar rub with a few seasonings like black pepper and kosher salt and onion powder, it will only add to these tasty ribs.
How to add spice:
If you love spice, there are a few ways to add a little heat to this recipe in the best way. Consider adding one or two of these to the BBQ sauce mixture:
- Chili powder
- Cayenne pepper
- White pepper
- Red pepper flakes
