Ingredients

  • 1 8-count count can of biscuits
  • 2 cups frying oil, I used canola oil

Maple Glaze

  • ¼ cup butter
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 4 tbsp milk, plus more if needed
  • 2 tsp vanilla or maple extract
  • 2 cups powdered sugar

Instructions

  • Add the oil to a large pot on medium-low heat.
  • Gently stretch the biscuit dough into oval shapes.
  • Once the oil is hot, add the dough in batches and fry for 1-2 minutes on each side.
  • To make the glaze, add the butter, brown sugar, and milk to a saucepan over medium heat and whisk frequently for 3-5 minutes, or until the sugar is dissolved.
  • Remove the pot from the heat and add the vanilla. Slowly whisk the powdered sugar in 1/2 cup at a time. Add a little more milk if the glaze is too thick.
  • Dip the donuts into the maple glaze and enjoy!

LOVE this idea! If I wanted to make the donuts chocolate-topped, what ingredients would I combine to do so?
