Cheesy Pierogi Casserole is one of those meals that uses just a handful of ingredients but tastes amazing. Low effort with high payoff! Your family will love this unique casserole.

What Are Pierogies?

What the heck is pierogi? Pierogi are European dumplings filled with a sweet or savory filling. They are often boiled, then pan-fried before serving. These little pockets of deliciousness are traditionally eaten in Central, Eastern, and Southeastern Europe. They’re so yummy and comforting and tasty.

My shortcut for this recipe is using frozen pierogi. You can make them homemade, but that requires making dough, making the fillings, and lots of steps. I like to pick up a bag of frozen ones at the grocery store. You can usually find these in the freezer section of your local grocery store. Mrs. T’s brand is what I can usually find at Walmart.

Pierogi Casserole Ingredients

I love a four-ingredient meal! This one truly has only four ingredients, and you’ll love how easy and simple it is to make.

  • Frozen Pierogi
  • Marinara Sauce
  • Alfredo Sauce
  • Parmesan Cheese

How to Make Pierogi Casserole

Like I said earlier, this recipe is made easy with frozen pierogi. I love this recipe because it is only 5 ingredients, and all of them stay good for a looooooong time. So stock up on these ingredients and have them on hand for when you need a quick and easy dinner, and you have absolutely nothing in the fridge.

All you have to do is layer the ingredients in a baking dish, kind of like lasagna. Start by pouring half the marinara sauce into the dish. Then, arrange the frozen pierogies in the dish, followed by the rest of the marinara sauce. Next, pour the alfredo sauce and parm on top.

Bake for just under an hour, and you’ll have perfectly cheesy and delicious pierogi casserole!
