How to Make Creamy Chicken Noodle Soup

Step 1: Melt the butter in a large pot over medium heat.

Step 3: Stir in salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, oregano, and garlic.

Ingredients 

  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 1 yellow onion, diced
  • 2 large carrots, sliced
  • 2 ribs celery, sliced
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp dried oregano
  • cup all-purpose flour
  • 7 cups chicken broth
  • 2 large chicken breasts
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 2 cups egg noodles

Instructions 

  • Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat. Add onion, carrots, and celery and cook 5–7 minutes until softened.
  • Stir in salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, oregano, and garlic.
  • Sprinkle flour over vegetables and cook 1–2 minutes.
  • Slowly stir in chicken broth and add chicken breasts.
  • Simmer about 20 minutes until chicken is cooked through.
  • Remove chicken, shred, and return to the pot.
  • Stir in heavy cream and egg noodles. Simmer 8–10 minutes until noodles are tender.
