Chicken Alfredo Casserole is a comfort food classic that makes a great weeknight dinner when you want something rich and comforting and cozy. I’ve added broccoli to mine to give it a little green and extra healthy boost. Adding the broccoli into this casserole makes eating veggies so much easier for my little ones.

Chicken Alfredo Casserole Ingredients

This recipe uses minimal ingredients and is brainless to put together. My kind of recipe! Here’s what you need to make this Chicken Alfredo Casserole.

  • penne pasta
  • Alfredo sauce (use your favorite brand, or if you’re feeling adventurous you could try to make your own!)
  • mozzarella cheese
  • steamed broccoli florets (frozen works just fine here. I love buying the microwaveable bags from Costco)
  • cooked chopped chicken (you can make chicken breasts and chop them up, or use a rotisserie chicken)

How to Make Chicken Alfredo Broccoli Casserole

This recipe is so easy. And you can make it even easier with a couple tricks.

First, boil your pasta (use this strainer!) and cook your chicken. I recommend using a rotisserie chicken for an even faster and more delicious meal. Or you can totally just bake your chicken or cook it on the stovetop. Whatever is easiest for you. Ease is key to this recipe!

Next, add everything together to a bowl except 1/2 cup of the cheese and mix until it is all combined. Try not to listen to the pasta noises as you mix everything together, haha! Is anyone else not a fan of pasta noises? Or just me?

Anyway, pour that all into a baking dish, and top with some more cheese. Gotta love the crispy cheese crust that always comes with a cheesy casserole! Bake for about 40 minutes and voila! Yummy dinner that will actually get eaten. Even the broccoli!

Easy Chicken Casseroles

Chicken casseroles are my no-brainer meals that come in clutch when I don’t know what to make and all I can muster is throwing some ingredients in a baking dish in the oven. I also love the variety– I can make Italian, Mexican, spicy, healthy, easy, or fancier chicken casseroles with minimal ingredients and effort. Here are a few of my very favorite chicken casseroles.

I made the chicken broccoli Alfredo and it was delicious! I defrosted chicken tenderloins in the microwave and then sautéed them in olive oil and fresh garlic stove top. It was so quick and easy!
