Oreo balls is a classic dessert recipe that is made of super simple ingredients and makes a ton of Oreo cream cheese balls!
You can make this for different occasions like a bake sale, birthday party, Christmas party, or for a cookie exchange, and they are always a hit. With only a few simple ingredients, you will have the best Oreo truffle balls.
This truly is the easiest way to get delicious Oreo truffles, and soon will be your new favorite treat if they aren’t already. Oh, and did I mention this is a no bake treat too?!

Ingredients for Oreo Balls:
- Cookies: you will need to use the whole regular Oreos for the chocolate truffles
- Cream: to get the right texture for these Oreo cookie balls, you will need to use softened cream cheese
- Chocolate: I like to use a combination of semi-sweet chocolate chips and white chocolate chips when dipping and decorating the delicious cookie balls
- Oil: using coconut oil or vegetable oil will allow the candy coating to dip the balls
How to make Oreo Balls:
In a blender or with a rolling pin, blend or crush the Oreos into fine crumbs.
In a medium-sized bowl or the bowl of a stand mixer, add the Oreos and cream cheese and mix together.
On a sheet pan lined with parchment paper or wax paper, create almost golfball-sized balls with the mix (a small cookie scoop can help portion the Oreo mixture). Place in fridge for 30 minutes to chill.
In two separate small bowls, add the semi-sweet chocolate and white chocolate chips and 1 tbsp of coconut oil in each, microwave at 15 – 30 second increments until melted.
Dip balls into the melted chocolate’s then place them on a shallow wax paper-lined pan and place back in the fridge for 30 minutes.
How to store this easy Oreo balls recipe:
Fridge: Put all the dipped balls into an airtight container and store them for up to 2 weeks in the refrigerator.
Freezer: In a freezer-safe container, store the oreo truffles in the freezer for up to 2 months.
Tips and tricks for this no bake Oreo ball recipe:
Can I use Oreo crumbs?
In short, no, I would not use just the crumbs. The white center filling adds to the sweetness of these dark chocolate cookie truffles as well as the texture. For the best results, stick to using the whole cookie to make the Oreo cookie crumbs.
Change the flavor:
There are a few ways to change the flavor of this, and the best part is that you really only need to change out the Oreo cookie you are using. Here are a few fun flavors to try:
- Mint oreos
- Peanut butter
- Golden oreos
- Java chip
- Peppermint bark (plus you could add a little peppermint extract if you love the peppermint flavor)
- Lemon
Can I use these for cake pops?
You definitely can! Just be sure to have the cake pop sticks on hand and some of the chocolate melted ahead of time so you can dip the sticks into the chocolate and then carefully place in the oreo ball before placing them in the fridge.
