  • Seasonings: you will need to have salt, black pepper, Italian seasoning, minced garlic
  • Onion: I like using yellow onion for the flavor and is diced
  • Tomatoes: a fun way to add flavor with sun-dried tomatoes (optional: you don’t need to add the sun-dried tomatoes if you don’t care for them)
  • Broth: you will need to have  chicken broth or chicken stock
  • Pasta: for this creamy chicken dish I enjoyed using uncooked orzo pasta
  • Cream: use either heavy cream or heavy whipping cream
  • Vegetable: it is great to include fresh spinach, chopped in the creamy orzo pasta
  • Cheese: using grated Parmesan cheese is a great way to add flavor

How to make this Slow Cooker Creamy Chicken and Orzo:

To a medium-sized slow cooker add in the chicken, seasoning, minced garlic, chopped onion, and chicken broth stir well. Cover the slow cooker with a lid.

Cook on low for 5-6 hours or until the chicken is cooked through.

Once the chicken is cooked add in the orzo, heavy cream, and spinach stir well and cook on low for an additional 20-30 minutes or until the orzo is tender.

Stir in the Parmesan and serve with your favorite side dishes.

Fridge: Once the creamy soup has cooled to room temperature, pour it into an airtight container and store it for up to 5 days.

Ingredients 

  • 1 lb chicken breast, cubed
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 yellow onion, diced
  • 1 cup sun-dried tomatoes, (optional: you don’t need to add the sun-dried tomatoes if you don’t care for them)
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup uncooked orzo

  • 1 ½ cups fresh spinach, chopped
  • cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions
