Made With Love,

Key Ingredients:

Turkey stroganoff ingredients with egg noodles, fresh mushrooms in a package, sour cream, and ground turkey all on a white counter
  • Broth: To get the best flavor, I use a combination of beef broth and chicken broth with the lean ground beef.
  • Sour cream: Using sour cream in this recipe is a great way to get a tasty, creamy sauce to mix with the wide egg noodles.
  • Flour: Adding a little all-purpose flour is how you will thicken up the sauce, mixed with the tender ground beef meat sauce

  5. Pour in the chicken broth, scraping the bottom of the pan as you go, and cook until the liquid is mostly gone.

My Pro Tip

Storage Instructions:

Fridge: Add any leftovers to an airtight container and then place the container in the refrigerator for 4-5 days.

Recipe FAQs

How do I thicken the sauce?

The all-purpose flour is one of the easiest ways to thicken the sauce for this recipe.
If it is not working, make a cornstarch slurry (1:1 ratio) and add it to the sauce, and give it time to thicken up.

Can I avoid using sour cream?

If you prefer, plain Greek Yogurt is a great substitute for sour cream, and adds a good amount of protein as well.

What beef stroganoff sauce made of?

Normally, it is a combination of sour cream, beef broth, sauteed onions, mushrooms, and a thickening agent like cornstarch or all-purpose flour.

Do you add Worcestershire sauce to stroganoff?

You can add Worcestershire sauce to the creamy sauce, as it will add another level of flavor. I like this version of stroganoff sauce better without the added Worcestershire sauce.
